P.E.S.B. Engineering Sdn Bhd (PESB) was established in July 1971 with an authorized capital of RM30.0 Million and a paid-up capital RM21.0 Million. The company was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) in 1969, arising from the New Economic Policy’s objective of increasing the participation, investment and employment opportunities for Bumiputera in the industrial sectors.

From 1971 to date, PESB established various Joint-Ventures in various field such as the assembly of Telecommunication equipment, switching exchanges, multiplexer, manufacturing material handling equipment, the operation of a fully integrated steel mill, overhead transmission line, underground cable, and substation. PESB was set up to spearhead industrial development through the JV with Multi-national corporations and foreign parties to develop Bumiputera skills, technology and expertise in manufacturing and engineering related to Pernas Group. In 1998, the equity of PESB was transferred to the current directors through the Management Buy Out exercise.
